Beautiful area with multiple walking trails and mountain bike tracks. Everything is well signed so you won't get lost. It can be a long day in the heat so make sure you take plenty of water and food to get you through. There is quite a lot of wildlife to see which was a great addition to our walk.

Great view from the forts. Be aware of naked people though. There's a nude beach close by and people like to go around the park clothes-less

Good walk but the distances of the tracks is very misleading. Under the radar loop is 17.7km, not 10.1km as stated by the sign

Great place to learn about Aboriginal bush tucker and also have a search light bunker and naval gun positions that were to defend Townsville harbour during WWII. I think the guns have been removed though.

If you enjoy finding old war monuments, it's worth a walk along the main paths to the old WW2 bunkers. The walk to Shelly Beach is also quite short to a beautiful, protected little beach.
